The University of Southampton Faculty of Medicine provides the following courses that require UCAT:

- Medicine graduate entry (A101)
- Medicine with gateway year (A102)
UCAT
Interviews are awarded based solely on UCAT once academic threshold met. The Situational Judgement test is not considered.
Personal Statement
Selectors use the personal statement to inform interview questions related to the non-academic criteria if the applicant is invited to attend a Selection Day.
Academic Requirements
GCSE Requirements
GCSE Requirements for University of Southampton Faculty of Medicine are:
- Maths - Grade 6 minimum
- English - Grade 6 minimum
- Science - Grade 6 minimum in Biology and Chemistry or Dual Award Science
- Other requirements - Seven GCSEs at grade 6(B) minimum
GCSEs are not scored. Only minimum requirements needed
A-levels or Scottish Higher requirements.
AAA at A level including Biology and one additional science, and including a pass in the practical examinations where this is separately endorsed. Acceptable additional science subjects are Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Environmental Studies or Geography. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. Subjects where there may be considerable overlap of material will not be accepted in combination (such as combinations of Zoology/Biology; Human Biology/Sports Studies/Physical Education).
For this programme Southampton do not make an alternative EPQ offer, however they welcome applicants who have achieved a good grade in the EPQ.
International Baccalaureate
36 points, with 18 points at Higher level, to include Grade 6 in Biology and an additional science subject. Acceptable additional science subjects are Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Environmental Studies or Geography. If a candidate has not sat GCSEs, the English Language requirement can be satisfied by attaining Grade 5 in English A at Standard Level.
Graduate Applicant Degree Requirements
A 2.1 honours degree in any subject in a candidate’s first degree. There are no A-Level requirements, but four GCSEs at grade C/4 including English Language, Mathematics and either Biology and Chemistry, Combined Science or Additional Science and Science are required.
