Personal statement is reviewed prior to interview for evidence of preparation for medicine. The personal statement is not scored but is assessed at interview. They do however recommend that applicants structure their personal statements to cover three themes: ‘commitment to medicine’, ‘knowledge of core qualities required of a doctor’ and ‘teamwork’ as well as discussing what they have learned about a medical career and its implications through their work experience.
