The University of Sheffield Medical School provides the following courses that require UCAT:
- Medicine (A100)
- Medicine graduate entry (A101)
- Dentistry (A200)
Minimum UCAT score of 2420/3600. Interviews are awarded based solely on UCAT once UCAT and academic threshold met. The SJT considered for applicants who attend an interview.
In 2020 the UCAT threshold was 2420.
Not scored. Interest in medicine, work experience/volunteering and outside interests are all explored at interview.
GCSE Requrements for University of Sheffield Medical School are:
- Maths - Grade 6 minimum
- English - Grade 6 minimum
- Science - Grade 6 minimum in at least one science subject or Dual Award Science
- Other requiremants - 5 GCSEs at grade 7 minimum
GCSEs are not scored. Only minimum requirements needed
A-levels or Scottish Higher requirements.
AAA at A level, including Chemistry or Biology, and another science (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Psychology), taken in one sitting. Further Maths, Critical Thinking are General Studies not not accepted.
AA at Advanced Higher including Chemistry or Biology and another science (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Psychology).
AAAAB at Scottish Higher.
36 points overall with 6s in Higher Level subjects (to include Chemistry or Biology and another science subject) and no less than 4 in Standard Level subjects.
Graduate Applicatant Degree Requirements
Applicants with a 2:1 degree in any subject and BBB at A level, including Chemistry or Biology taken in one sitting, will be considered.
Schemes such as Discover Medicine and Realising Opportunities encourage applications from underrepresented groups and those who have the ability to become good doctors but would not normally consider this as a serious option. Applications from candidates with different backgrounds and of all ages are encouraged. There are dedicated routes of entry, via UCAS, for students on specific courses at Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Bradford. See website for details.
