Important Updates to MedEntry's UCAT Platform for 2025

Important Updates to MedEntry's UCAT Platform for 2025

8 months ago by Chris

At MedEntry, we're committed to providing the most accurate and up-to-date UCAT preparation resources for our students. Following the recently announced changes to the UCAT for 2025, we've made significant updates to our platform to ensure our students continue to receive the most relevant and effective preparation resources.

Key UCAT 2025 Platform Updates

We're excited to announce that our platform has been updated to the official 2025 UCAT format. These comprehensive updates include:

Abstract Reasoning Section removal

In line with the UCAT Consortium's changes, we have removed the Abstract Reasoning (AR) section from all mock exams and practice materials. To ensure accurate performance tracking and meaningful comparisons, we have:

  • Updated our scoring system to reflect the new maximum total UCAT cognitive score of 2700 (down from 3600)
  • Recalculated percentiles to exclude Abstract Reasoning for all previously completed exam attempts
  • Updated scoring metrics to reflect the new UCAT structure for future attempts

Updated Decision Making section

MedEntry’s Decision Making (DM) sections have been expanded to include 6 additional questions, matching the official 2025 UCAT format. These changes are reflected in all mocks and subtest mocks. This change ensures students practice with the exact question volume and timing conditions they'll encounter in UCAT 2025.

Timing Adjustments

We've implemented all timing changes to match the official 2025 UCAT exactly, including:

  • Updated subtest durations to reflect the new format
  • Added extra reading time for instruction sections
  • Adjusted overall exam timing to match the new structure

Additional Changes

As part of MedEntry’s commitment to continuous improvement, all mock exams have undergone sophisticated statistical analysis. As a result of this analysis, there have been adjustments to the mocks and scoring metrics to ensure that they are reliable and valid.

Information for Current Students

We understand that these changes affect students who have already begun their preparation.

For any mock exams you've previously attempted, the questions will remain unchanged, but we've updated the scoring to reflect the new format.

Students who completed exams in the old format will soon have the option to reset their attempt and take the updated version of the exam.

Coming Soon

Our commitment to providing the best UCAT preparation resources continues with these additions:

  • Several hundred questions have already been added to the online Qbank and several thousand more will be added in the coming weeks
  • 5 additional full-length practice exams will be released shortly

These additions will give our students even more opportunities to practice and perfect their UCAT skills in the new UCAT format.

Our Commitment

These updates reflect our ongoing dedication to providing the most accurate and effective UCAT preparation resources. We understand the importance of staying aligned with official UCAT changes and ensuring our students practice with materials that precisely mirror the actual exam.

Stay tuned on social media and blogs pages for more updates as we continue to enhance our platform to support your UCAT preparation journey!
